The Forecast of Work From Home

The Forecast of Work From Home

Whilst 2020 may be considered as the year the remote work emerged, it is in this year that the work from home begins to be the trend.

The world experience being upsweep by the sudden appearance of the Coronavirus 2019 or Covid-19. It has caused a historic change in all our then-lifestyle. A majority of the companies opt to continue their businesses in the comfort of their worker's homes.

As a consequence of this change, it created an assumption that the WFH is here to permanently stay and be a new norm in the working industry. How close is this in becoming our reality?

Here’s what else we should know:

1. Reduces The Burden of Commuting.

A survey has been conducted by Airtasker who has above one thousand employees, one out of four who took the survey quit their jobs due to commuting exhaustion. The commute is indeed physically draining, time-consuming, and over time demotivates the employees to work better.

In contrast to the employees working at home, they have more time to work instead of getting caught up with the commute. Ending up hustling earlier and feeling less exhausted at the end of the day.

2. Attracts Highly-Qualified Professionals

The thought of relocation for a job somehow repels better talents and opt for companies whose jobs can be finished at home. This is one of the major dilemmas faced by different industries since, over time, they are having a hard time attracting excellent individuals.

However, companies who are willing to hire employees from different parts of the world and offer a remote-jobs, increase their chance to hire qualified and skilled staff. Plus, industries no longer need to spend financial budgeting for the relocation of the newly-hired employees.

3. Discourages Micromanagement

Even employers and managers with best interests at heart can end up unintentionally controlling every detail of their member's work process. Inside the office, everyone has that burden on their shoulders to ensure that they finish their tasks. However, this results in less productivity among the employees.

Several studies are concluding that staff in an open office are conscious of how they do their everyday job because of the feeling that their move is being watched and monitored. As a result, they are more likely to lose focus and feel unmotivated to do their best. Without the presence of being monitored, employees can feel at ease and finish their jobs in a way that best suits them.

4. Increase in Employee Satisfaction

Cutting off long commutes, more flexibility, fewer distractions, and no micromanagement. These are the things that encourage employees to set the bar higher in their respective jobs because they feel that they should treasure the trust handed out to them by their company. It automatically gives them an impression not to make a mess and maintain a good record or reputation at work. No wonder many professionals opt for remote working due to these perks.

A year has passed and the thought of remote working before Covid-19 happened isn't as big a deal compared to the right now. Without stressing over it, companies have somehow transitioned successfully. They continue to operate and provide their services and goods even despite the sudden change.

It won't be a surprise if remote work software becomes a trend since other forms related to online communication are more likely to be the must-haves for companies.

So instead of resisting change, this is now the chance for organizations to look for better solutions in improving their remote work capabilities and policies. As of this moment, the work from home is slowly becoming the new normal work set-up.
